The next election of officers for the USS Will Rogers Veterans Association will be held at the Reunion in Charleston, SC and nominations are open at this time. If you wish to nominate someone (including yourself) or have suggestions or recommendations, now is the time to let us know.
As Vice-president, the By-Laws direct me to be the Chairman of the Nominations Committee. The committee consists of the four outgoing officers:
- Rob Fields, President
- Ed Greany, Vice-president
- Frenchy DeFrehn, Secretary
- Ken Keegler, Treasurer.
Ken is presently serving as the appointed Treasurer filling in the remaining term for Arch.
We would like to have a short bio or resume along with a nomination so we can make information available to the members so we get qualified individuals to fill the positions. Make it like a political release if you wish. We will assemble the candidates into a format to be released around July so there is plenty of time to give consideration before the actual election. I would mention candidates should also be members of the Association. If you have not yet joined, you may do so by sending the $20 dues to our Treasurer who will notify me for mailing of the ID card. This is a two-year dues amount. Voting Credentials will be used for voting so only members can vote.
Nominations are also acceptable from the floor but creates a problem. First, the candidate must agree to accept the nomination and there lacks the benefit of preliminary information about the person to be distributed among the voting members.
So get your campaign hats of and let's have a great successful election.
